Shubbak Festival 2013 22 June to 6 July 2013
As part of the Shubbak Festival, the Institut français will screen 5 films and documentaries of contemporary Arab cinema.
Focusing on Egyptian, Algerian and Moroccan cinema, and French co-productions, the selection will give an opportunity to discover the award winners The Repentant and Winter of Discontent along with quality independent film as Lust, Fidaï or the treasure from the archives, A thousand and One Hands by Moroccan filmaker Souheil Ben-Barka. The season has been co-curated by Omar Kholeif.
What’s more, the majority of these screenings will be followed by a taste of Algerian food courtesy of the National Algerian Centre!
