Travel to Safi

On the Atlantic coast, between El Jadida and Essaouira, Safi is a port city with a rich history dominated by Portuguese architecture. Safi is the capital of the Doukkala-Abda Region and the bustling port is the centre of the country’s sardine industry.

Safi is also referred to as the capital of Moroccan pottery, visitors are drawn to the city by its culture of arts and crafts. In the pottery quarter around Bab Chaaba, the gateway to the old medina, there are potters are at work and lots of shops and stalls selling ceramics. The National Ceramics Museum is close by and a must visit when staying in the city.

For one of the more unique Head to Mohammed V Square and see the worlds largest tagine pot.

For water sports lovers there is the Surf Club on the beach just to the north of the port.
